When I was in high school in the mid 2000s, I had a reputation for leaving extremely long messages on my friends' answering machines. They felt compelled to tell me this because their parents had to listen to me go, "sooooo yeahhhhh let me knooowwwwwwwwwWWWWW," which, of course, displeased the parents greatly due to the finite amount of tape in those days. All to say, I feel like I'm leaving your mom a shitty unedited voicemail right now and for that I'M SORRY.
But I felt you should know, since you subscribed to this newslettre, that new Rat Paws music is not merely "on the way" - it is here! The tiny bits of tortilla-chip-shaped particles of dust have all been arranged and magnetized and whatever else by friend of the fam, D, here in Seattle. And on Firday March 3rd (bandcamp Friday!) you'll be able to hear it on the Rat Paws bandcamp (ratpaws.bandcamp.com) and on streaming services worldwide soon thereafter. You'll be able to buy physical and digital copies through bandcamp as well starting on Friday.
Digitally, you'll only get access to the four studio-recorded songs on side A (Bad Arcade, Shelf, Park Benches and STHU). If you get the tape, Side B consists of live tracks recorded last December at the Monkey Pub in Seattle's U-District with the current lineup (Mira K. on drums and Henry F. on bass).

Another very important point of business is that there will be a release show this Saturday at the Monkey Pub. It's free. Other eligibility requirements include being at least 21 years old. Rio the Bear aka Jasmine will be playing as will new band dog dog aka Esa, both dear friends to the band.
Please come! You can buy a tape from me there. And we'll have shirts at the "Tapes and Tops" station. There will also be a raffle (!) and everyone who buys a tape will be entered ;)
It's insane how many people came through and helped on this tape, from the recording to mastering to the the printing and pressing. Thank you all <3. I'd like to thank myself for making each terrifying decision that seemed by turns revolutionary and cataclysmic - they're all baked into this thing. So please enjoy a piece of this pain cake with me. YUM
(if you can't make it to the show this Saturday, we'll be playing again on Thursday March 16th at the Tractor Tavern with AP Macroeconomics and Dining Dead)
