Little recap on our last show... which you can watch in full HERE

Rat Paws (because we are anti-hierarchy) played first. I had devised a punk-forward setlist, aka we resurrected "NO X-mas." But we also resurrected "Anything Can Happen," which is not recorded yet, and which we played after an audience member yelled "play us another, we're horny!" It was a case of perfect timing since that is the horniest song of the set.

Anyway, Moving Targets (Taang! records) came through on their tour supporting their new album. Quelle énergie! Kenny, the sole original member of this early 1980s legendary Boston "melodic hardcore band," destroyed; even during their soundcheck, my ears were like WTF ... amazing, high-relief guitar sound... dialed in. The first song they played felt like it could have kept looping (loping?), it was this surreal-shaped riff, but still strictly punk. Then the second song was a REPLACEMENTS COVER played perfectly ("Takin' a Ride") ... also their final song ("for the road") was none other than Wipers' YOUTH OF AMERICA... again, totally faithful (but not in an annoying way) homage, even the solo section. Total control. Check it out.

The second band (the sweet slice of the pie!) was fittingly Sweet Piece, who are from around here. God bless em, some of the only costumes in the bar (on Halloweekend!) They are silly in an aggressive sorta LA punk kinda vein. I feel like they could've been contemporaries of the Mummies or some sortch. They had a song calling out narcs. Get 'em.

Here are some smokin' pics. Cat Rose took these! Thank you Cat. Check out the blog she does with her mate!

"Great show!"
